Hoverboards!!! I have to admit that this would be really awesome. The video linked below is for what seems like a legit hoverboard. If anyone out there ends up buying one swing by sometime, we would love to try it out.

We had some fun conversations over the last week in regards to people with symptoms that may seem like there is nothing to do to help but with further investigation there is a great deal of improvement to be had. When Dr. Nelson is out and about and meets someone for the first time this is the usual conversation.
“Oh, you are a chiropractor?”
Me: Yes I am
“I have this neck thing”
Me: Ok, did you ever have it checked?
“No it just is what it is.”

How often have you thought or heard someone say it is what it is. So often we live with something for so long that we start to believe that it is unchangeable. Looking at some of the unique situations that come into the office we frequently have many different options to help with those situations that seem unchangeable.

At times a arthritic joint may not be a arthritic joint, it may be a long term swelling in your body that may respond to dietary, stress reduction, exercise, chiropractic care or acupuncture. The point that we are trying to make is don’t allow a pain or symptom to go unchecked and under evaluated, daily we have situations that change for the better using a combination of therapies that were previously lumped into the “it just is” category.

I have attached a cool little article from US News that covers some aches and pains that typically fall under the just live with it category.

Recipe of the week: Faux  Fudge
This turned out pretty darn good and was well received by family dinner. After trying them we through it might work better as little bonbon type bites. Roll the dough freeze it then dip in chocolate.

1/3 cup coconut flour
2/3 cup buckwheat flour
1/2 cup peeled and cubed zuchinni
2 Tbs maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cup of dates-soak in water till soft, drain excess before putting in blender
2 Tbs cashew butter or any nut butter that you have
2 Tbs coconut oil
Mix in food processor until a nice batter spread in a dish to desired thickness. We put down parchment paper to avoid sticking.

Topping:
2 Tbs Maple Syrup
2 Tbs Coconut oil
2 Tbs dark chocolate chips
1 1/2 Tbs of cacao or coco powder
1 tsp of vanilla
Melt in a pan pour over cake return to freezer.

Put the mix in and store in freezer.
